How to play
- Press Start or Space and the robot starts running on its own.
- Jump with Space, ↑ or W, or tap the game area on a phone. Hold a little longer to jump higher.
- Duck with ↓ or S, or hold the Duck button. Ducking in the air brings you down faster.
- Jump over the boxes on the ground. Duck under low drones; when a drone flies high, keep running underneath instead of jumping.
- The speed creeps up as you go, and the distance in meters is your score.
- Press P or Esc to pause. The game also pauses by itself when you switch tabs.
Tips for going farther
- Jump a little earlier as the speed rises: the robot needs time to leave the ground.
- Use a short press for low boxes and a long press for tall or double boxes.
- When a drone appears, check its height first. Low means duck, high means just keep running.
- Watch the empty space in front of the robot rather than the robot itself, so you spot the next obstacle sooner.
About endless runners
Jump Runner is an endless runner: the character never stops moving forward, and you only choose when to jump or duck while trying to get as far as possible. The genre took off on smartphones from around 2009, and its success is often put down to simple one-finger controls that suit touch screens. The robot, boxes and drones in this game were drawn for Reflexa.
